Branding is the strengthening of a product (or services) and name recognition as a result of an advertising or promotional campaign. Design is a graphic contrivance, which seeks to convey a defined message in the most effective way possible.
Production as the name suggests, is concerned with producing and procuring the material which creative has presented to client. Production must ensure that the solution is close enough to creatives’ vision, but is also affordable to the client.
Motion refers to a specialized sub-division of creative, which is responsible for 2D/3D animation, visualization and many allied skills. It is a distinct advantage to have such capabilities integrated into the creative set-up.
Activations and experiential marketing is a useful part of the marketing mix, that, in essence, enables new consumers to experiment with the product or service. Activations can also reach niche markets
in an effective way.
Design comprises graphic disciplines which are not focused on advertising per se and may include Corporate Identity and logo developed. BTL refers to Below-The-Line i.e. tasks not remunerated through commission.
Dynamic publishing is a growth area – and with good reason. Dynamic publishing presents text in tandem with interactive visual or audio material – enabling the reader to drill down to personalized areas of interest. Static text struggles to compete.

Glen is founder of the Kin. Although CEO, Glen prefers to see his role as that of creative guide, building RCK’s human capital, inspiring better work from his teams and helping them to see campaigns in their wider context.
Kevin is one of the most acclaimed (and most awarded) copywriters in South Africa. He has an infectious enthusiasm which permeates through creative and client service and encourages everyone to find the magic in the project. He also revels in finding the projects.
Sara has steered the agency through a tsunami of change – from modest beginnings into a full-service organization. It is this diversity, which has stood her in good stead as a skilled manager of change. Her passion lies in – strategy and business growth, operations, service, people management and getting the job done and she has developed an agency culture that she is proud of.
Ivan is a Renaissance man with experience in many creative spheres, including: advertising, design, interior décor and executive couture. At RCK Ivan has the tough mandate of ECD: pushing the boundaries of creativity and making sure the specialist units dovetail with each other and with the main agency.
Stephanie fulfills the pivotal role of Client Services Director, a position held since 2012. RCK benefits from the in-depth knowledge of production which Steph gained during an earlier stint at one of South Africa’s major printing companies. Steph is strongly supported by her Client Service Manager, Tarryn Evenwel.
As studio manager Harry Brooksbank's role is to keep the engines of RCK firing on all cylinders. One of his most important functions is to monitor work flow (together with Traffic Manager, Essie Tatchell) and make sure that every project meets its deadline and cost parameters.
Like Stephanie, Dale’s background is in the repro industry. He has been RCK’s go-to man in production since the early days, witnessing a massive escalation in volume and complexity of tasks. In such a situation – production becomes a key determinant of profitability.
Stephan’s earlier positions at RCK included Production Manager and later, Supplier Relationship Manager. As head of Navigate, Stephan specializes in the exciting area of dynamic publishing: a powerful tool for brands and organizations.
Wes helped set up the first digital unit at Global Mouse (pre-cursor to RCK) in 2000. Later, after gaining broadcast media skills at Ontwerp and his own shop, Wunderkindt, Wesley was persuaded to return to the Kin in 2014 – as head of Tweak.
Dewald first got into the activation scene after tackling a part-time job whilst studying at UJ. Today, he is an enthusiastic advocate of activations and experiential marketing, with many successful campaigns under the belt.
Jano has raced to the level of Associate Creative Director in record time. Apart from an aptitude for conceptual and design, Jano also has a big work ethic and an ability to take on large time-consuming projects.
Simoné has the fine touch of an artist. When not crafting intricate design elements, you will find her working on a sculpting project or an oil painting. Simone has wide experience in devising Corporate Identity solutions – including complex projects involving highly divisionalized companies.
